It has been over 25 years since CAS Engineering found its humble beginnings in a small attic corner of Curt Schreffler’s home. Since then CAS has focused on the jurisdictions of Montgomery County and Washington DC, giving us the ability to develop and maintain unparalleled expertise in these two locations.
Working with the right people makes all the difference. In 1996 Jeff Robertson joined the firm, ultimately becoming our Montgomery County Branch Manager. Jeff was instrumental in guiding CAS Engineering on a path to steady and sustainable growth. In 2000, we launched an internship program for high school and college students. Several of our first interns, including our DC Office Branch Manager David Landsman, are still with CAS Engineering holding vital positions. Our internship program continues today and we take great pride in helping develop the next generation of civil engineers. By 2002 our Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager, Jim Ochs brought his organizational and technical talents to the company, allowing us to push our efficiency and quality control to new levels.
In late 2014 CAS opened our current office, a historic building in downtown Frederick, Maryland. The extensive renovation won Frederick’s Best Historic Brick and Mortar Renovation in 2015 and CAS Engineering subsequently won awards as the Most Creative Work Place in 2016 and Best Place to Work in 2017. After more than 27 years in business, CAS Engineering continues to make each project better than the last by focusing on Communication, Coordination, and Commitment.
