In 1977, Atlantic Welders opened to service the petroleum distribution terminals in the Baltimore Washington Metro area. In 1999, Bill Polacek, CEO of JWF Industries, purchased Atlantic Welders, along with its 18 mechanics, to add field service to his fabrication business located in Johnstown, PA.
In 2000, Polacek brought in Gordon “Clay” Lau, an Atlantic Welders employee for over 15 years, as the CFO and General Manager. Then in 2001, Clay became an Owner of Atlantic Welders. Lau was always looking for ways to better serve the Baltimore-Washington metro area.
In September 2006 Lau Investments Iron LLC and Nevada Bill Inc came together and Atlantic Industrial Mechanical & Electrical (AIME) was Incorporated. Shortly after their incorporation AIME purchased J-Z Electric and WJ Wychulis and son, creating the Electrical Division. In 2008, the Pipeline Division was created to compliment Atlantic Welders Inc. Since then, AIME has been servicing the Baltimore/D.C. Metro area in Industrial, Commercial and Residential settings.
